1.1 Information You Provide
- Account details: Display name, email address, username, date of birth, gender, and other profile information.
- Authentication details: When you sign in using Apple, Google, or Facebook, we receive the basic account information you authorize them to share (such as name, email, and profile picture).
- User-generated content: Journals, comments, messages, group chat participation, survey answers, and other interactions.
- Reports & feedback: Information you provide when reporting a user, message, journal, or comment.
1.2 Automatically Collected Information
- Device & usage data: Device type, operating system, app version, IP address, time zone, and crash/diagnostic data.
- Location data: Approximate location if you enable GPS/location services, used for group matching, local content, and safety. Displayed to other users as a city. You may disable location permissions, though some features may not function.
1.3 Information from Third Parties
- We may receive data from sign-in providers (Apple, Google, Facebook) as authorized by you.
- We do not purchase personal data from data brokers.
2. How We Use Your Information
- Provide and improve the Service.
- Match users into group chats and provide personalized content.
- Facilitate social interaction, journals, surveys, and emotional connection features.
- Maintain safety, enforce rules, and investigate reports of inappropriate conduct.
- Detect and prevent fraud, spam, or security incidents.
- Comply with legal obligations.
3. Sharing of Information
- With service providers who assist in operating the Service under confidentiality agreements. The service providers are as follows:
- Supabase: Provides our database and backend services, storing and managing your account information, user-generated content, and interactions.
- Firebase Cloud Messaging (FCM): Handles push notifications to your device for alerts, reminders, and updates.
- OAuth Providers (Google, Apple, Facebook): Facilitate account sign-in and share basic profile information you authorize (name, email, profile picture).
- Analytics providers: Monitor app performance and usage trends.
- For legal compliance if required by law, court order, or governmental request.
- In case of safety concerns to protect users, our rights, or the public.
- With your consent when you choose to share content or link third-party accounts.
We do not sell your personal data.
4. Data Retention & Deletion
You may delete your account at any time via the Settings page in the mobile application. Account deletion is immediate and permanently removes all personal data and user-generated content from our active systems. Backups are not retained.
5. Reporting & Enforcement
Users can report content or behavior by long-pressing a message, using the “more actions” menu on journals and comments, or using the report flag on user profiles.
Reports are reviewed within 7 days, and violations may result in warnings, suspension, or permanent account removal. Accounts of users under the legal minimum age (13 in the U.S.) will be terminated immediately.
6. Children’s Privacy
The Service is not intended for children under 13 years old (or under the minimum digital consent age in their country). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under this age. If we learn that we have collected data from a child without verified parental consent, we will delete it immediately.
7. Your Rights
- Access the personal information we hold about you.
- Request correction or deletion of your data.
- Object to certain processing activities.
- Request a portable copy of your data.

8. Data Security

- Row Level Security (RLS) rules in our database to prevent public access to sensitive user information, including email addresses and location data.
- Access controls and authentication requirements for all administrative systems.
9. International Transfers
If you access the Service from outside the United States, your information may be transferred to and processed in the U.S., which may have data protection laws different from your country.
